WHERE TO START?
ARE YOU PLANNING TO CREATE AN URBAN LAG?
Urban Local Action Group (urban LAG) is a public legal entity-association established in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Associations of the Republic of Lithuania. The association consists of different organisations: community and other non-governmental organisations, business, local government (municipality). The aim of an urban LAG is to increase social integration, improve employability and strengthen young businesses in a given city, involving local people, businesses and the municipality.
Urban LAG has the right to prepare a local development strategy. The establishment of an urban LAG can be initiated by any partner.
Most cities already have LAGs that are open to new members, so find out about their activities, get in touch and join them!
LOCAL PROJECT
The project applicant, who has an idea that meets the goals of the local development strategy, applies to the urban LAG of his/her city, which consults and/or organises trainings. Residents can also contribute to the implementation of the strategy by volunteering, providing ideas or helping project promoters financially.
